UTOP/A STL TERRAIN (FDM) and PDF BATTLE MAT
This is the STL TERRAIN pledge for my UTOP/A Kickstarter campaign, found here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/catnippnipper/utop-a-stl-terrain-and-figures
The UTOP/A Terrain set is a very versatile modular building system of my own design, for printing on an FDM printer, the same system used for my ScumCity terrain (which is included here as an optional Add-On). It uses some simple mechanics based on the properties of FDM printed parts to click together without glue. It can be arranged and re-arranged into many different set-ups, allowing for as big a city as you wish, and it will all pack away in a convenient, compact form. This set can print without the need for supports, as I've added some EasyPrint versions of the few parts that do need a little help in printing.
The terrain set totals 180 parts, which includes three variations of many of the pieces: Utopian, War-torn, or Infested. This allows you to create your own perfect society in miniature by using just the Utopian pieces, or the war ravaged streets of a fallen city using the War-torn and Utopian sets together. The Infested parts can be used to suggest an alien invasion, or chaos corruption, into your own narrative campaigns. I am hoping to increase the parts total with some stetch goal extra bits and bobs. All the parts can be mirrored for some extra variety to your set-ups too.
The terrain is pitched to work with a lot of different scales, from 28mm to 40mm, therefore useful for games such as Warhammer 40k, Necromunda, Stargrave, Infinity, Star Wars Legion, and Star Wars Shatterpoint (with each level at 88mm, the same as the core set terrain).
You'll get 180 parts that you can print on and FDM printer, and a PDF Battle mat for printing at home or at a printing service like Pixartprinting. I've orientated everything for the best printing results. Here is a video showing how this stuff goes together, it says it is for ScumCity, but UTOP/A uses the same system to go together; they are 100% compatible!
It all prints without the need for supports on an FDM printer. I test printed it on an Ender 3 v2 at 0.12mm layer thickness with a 10% line infill. It will fit on a printer with a 180mm x 180mm bed, like the Prusa mini, and up. This is specifically for FDM printers, and resin printing of this stuff is not supported in any way, you are on your own if you want to give it a try. Check out The Gloop for some settings with which to print this for nice results.
Please note: this is an STL ONLY for 3D printing and not the physical product. Requires a 3D printer and knowledge of 3D printing to use.
Technical Notes
The terrain files are designed for 28mm to 35mm scale miniatures.
These are high quality 3D print production files intended for filament printing. They may work on resin printers, but I do not support that printing method as standard. STLs are oriented for best printing and may require supports, unless it states in the description that do not. I suggest you download the free model to familiarize yourself with my formats and check compatibility with your printer(s). I suggest a printer such as the Creality Ender3 v2 as being compatible with the files as this is what they were test printed on.
